Welcome from everyone at Sproatley C of E Academy!

Sproatley C of E Primary Academy is a warm and welcoming school which is evident from the moment you step into the building. I feel very fortunate to be the headteacher of such a vibrant village school which is set in beautifully-green surroundings. Our children are happy to come to school and know that their needs will be met-not only academically but socially, emotionally and spiritually. Our Christian vision drives everything we do and is expressed daily through our core Christian values of Friendship, Compassion, Trust and Respect.

We believe that our school flourishes because of all the people that work together to support us: our parents and governors, the local church and school trustees and of course, the wider community are integral to the success of our school. We have an amazingly dedicated parent support group known as FOSSA (Friends of Sproatley School Academy) who work tirelessly to provide creative and fun events which often bring our school and the community together.

We are very fortunate to have close links to our local church St Swithins which is only a short distance from our school. Our children walk up to the church to attend and deliver special services such as Harvest and Christingle, liaising with Reverend Laird. The website photos from these events show what truly special occasions these are.

We are proud of our Christian vision that ‘We encourage, build and hope together…no-one left behind’ (based on 1 Thessalonians 5-11). Our engaging, inclusive and diverse curriculum ensures that all children feel valued, supported, encouraged and positively-challenged. Every child is encouraged to recognise and take steps to achieve their own potential building self-belief, resilience and determination along the way. We strive to develop the whole child and nurture and celebrate each individual’s God-given talents not only in the children but in adults who work in the school.

One unique aspect of Sproatley School which we are very proud of is our Forest School. We believe whole-heartedly in the positive impact of not only our Forest School curriculum but in outdoor learning. We are very fortunate to have an inspiring Forest School leader who plants the love of nature in our children and then nurtures this passion throughout their time at Sproatley. Our children experience outdoor learning from Nursery to Year 6 because we believe in (and see on a daily basis) the holistic benefits of this: from using their imagination to building cognitive skills to acquiring social skills and developing resilience. The children are also given the chance to connect to nature in a spiritual way which impacts positively on their emotional wellbeing.

Our website will give you an insight into our cherished school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents, pupils and other interested visitors. However, I highly recommend that you come and visit our school to experience the truly welcoming atmosphere that is Sproatley. We hope that you will want to become part of our caring community and of course, you would be most welcome!

If you would like a tour of Sproatley C of E Academy, please contact the office and arrange an appointment. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and I hope to meet you soon.

Kind regards,

Victoria Tippett
