Collective Worship At Sproatley

Collective worship is a key part of the school day at Sproatley. We hold a whole school collective worship 4 times a week and a class collective worship once a week. During our worships the children are introduced to bible stories and morals through Roots and Fruits and Journey Through the Bible. We also have weekly themes for our music and hymn choices and the worship team developed our school prayer linked to our Christian values:

Heavenly Father,
In friendship, compassion and trust
May your spirit be our guide.
In Jesus' name, light our way
Holy trinity ever this day
Be at our side.
Amen

Our Friday Celebration Worship gives us the opportunity to come together and share any moments that have made us proud throughout the week. It also gives children an opportunity to share any of their personal achievements and success from outside of school. We want the whole Sproatley family to be involved in celebrating these achievements so we invite parents to join us once a month on a Friday afternoon.

Open the Book Worship

Open the Book (OtB) is a project which offers primary school children an opportunity to hear key Bible stories, from a team of Christians from local churches, who present the stories during Collective Worship. Our OtB team is made up of members of the community who are part of St Swithin's church. We have wonderful performances regularly throughout the school year where the children play a part in the performances too!

Worship Teams

At Sproatley we have a very enthusiastic worship team. Elected each term, the worship team is responsible for choosing the topics and hymns for the collective worships during that term. The team meets regularly with Mrs Tippett to make these important decisions and they have also helped out during our Open the Book assemblies.
