The first Monday in December is always a special day in Sproatley, when we hold our annual Christingle service to mark the start of advent. Staff, pupils, parents and members of the community gather at St Swithin’s Church in the evening for our Christingle Service. It is always a beautiful service, with an amazing time for reflection as we light the candles and listen to silent night. Reverend Sue led the service and the church was standing room only. Following the service everyone was invited to gather around the tree in the centre of the village for the Sproatley lights switch on.
