  • managing the school’s finances
  • making sure the curriculum is balance and broadly based

Mrs A Garton Foundation Governor
My name is Anne Garton, I have lived in the village for 43 years and I have been working at Sproatley School in various capacities for over 27 years, such as Dinner Lady, Teacher’s Aide and latterly in the School Office. I was also a Parent Helper and for a time the Secretary of FOSSA. My two children also attended this school many years ago now. I am also a Foundation Governor and I am on the SIAM Committee, the Health and Safety Committee and the Full Governing Body.

My name is Chris Moor and am a Foundation Governor, as well as a member of St. Swithin’s PPC.  I have lived in Sproatley for 39 years and my own children attended Sproatley Primary so have had a long interest in the school.  I am on the SIAM (Statutory Inspection of Anglican & Methodist Schools) and Personnel committees.

Mrs K Crystal Co-opted Governor
My name is Kirsty Crystal. I have been a Community Governor since September 2014. I am Vice Chair of the Board of Governors and am a member of the following committees: Finance, Personnel and Curriculum and Standards. I have two children at Sproatley School and live in the village. Following a change of career, I now work as a teaching assistant at a local primary school.

I have been the proud Head Teacher of Sproatley Endowed C.E. (V.C.) Primary since January 2012. I am married to Chris and mum to our only daughter Jemima. I began my career as a teacher over 20 years ago and I’ve never looked back. I chose this vocation because of the children, they are at the heart of every decision that I make and I strive to ensure that every child in our care is happy and is making progress. We are lucky at Sproatley to have such a strong team of Governors leading the school, they are forward thinking and keen to make a difference to the lives of our Sproatley pupils.

My name is Chris Smith and I am a parent governor. My two children currently attend Sproatley Primary School. I have worked in my family business for the past 16 years and with the knowledge gained running a business I feel I can contribute to the committees I’m involved in, which are Finance and Health and Safety.
Mr D Chamberlain Parent Governor
I have lived in the village of Sproatley for ten years and I am married to Hannah who is a Deputy Head Teacher at a school in Hull. We have a son, Milo, who attends the school and loves it!I have a Law Degree from the University of Hull and I spent 8 years with Humberside Police, specialising in child protection. For the last two years of my Police service I worked as a child protection trainer, training police officers and social services in the joint investigation of cases of abuse and neglect. I left the Police in 2004 and have worked in various IT companies specialising in business change in the public sector. I currently work as a sales manager for Motorola working with the UK Police Service and Home Office on the provision of their communcations systems. I manage a team of account managers and have experience in sales, marketing, organisational change and the use of technology to drive business change
Mrs J Drennan Clerk to Governors
My name is Jayne Drennan and I have been the Clerk to the governing body since 2006. My principal responsibilities are to assist in the preparation of the agenda and associated documents, ensure meetings are quorate, draft minutes, be a point of contact for governors on procedural matters, inform governors of legislative changes/training opportunities, maintain records, deal with membership/terms of office, partake in induction procedures and undertake duties to comply with DfE & Ofsted requirements. I have been involved in school administration since 2000, moving to Sproatley School in 2006 as School Business Manager.
